Post Fiji Launches its Presence Online

ABOVE: launch event as covered by Talk Business (FijiOne TV)

The newly revamped Post Fiji website was launched by the company’s Chief
Executive Officer, Joape Kuinikoro at JJs on the Park in Suva last night (4/3/09).
An old website had existed but had long outlived its usefulness and its appeal.
In his address, Mr Kuinikoro said that the new website “was more than just merely
embracing ICT; it underlined Post Fiji’s commitment to delivering information and
services to its clients in a timely manner”. He mentioned that because of this
commitment, the site now had better content, better design, better layout and was of
course, user-friendly.
Oceanic Communications was commissioned to rebuild Post Fiji’s website and to
give it a presence that would take it on par with the rest of its postal counterparts
A phased approach was adopted and as stated by Post Fiji’s GM Retail & New
Ventures Joseph Rodan (Jnr), the website was still in phase one and whilst features
such as postage calculations can now easily be done online by customers, major
components – such as online purchasing, and online tracking of Registered Post
items and courier consignments being delivered through EMS will be phased in soon.
The new website is part of a new beginning for Post Fiji and opportunities do follow
with such optimism.
